Berba Magic :)

Back after a pretty long break to be called a hiatus and apologies to some sad/saddening posts prior to the exile.

The Ballerina

This post is primarily an ode to one man who the world seemed to despise for having worn the red shirt apart from a die-hard few and Fergie (err he had to trust, spent 30 million). Dimitar Berbatov.

For starters, this season has been a bounty for Berbatov lovers, six goals in four games, we are not talking Wayne Rooney, Didier Drogba or Frank 'Deflect my way to goal' Lampard but yeah one man who with that silken touch has delighted me atleast in all these seasons, Dimitar Berbatov. I have had a penchant for these people who personify lazy elegance in sports be it Inzy, Ranatunga or the man in subject Berbatov. A lot can obviously attributed to a huge impact of the lazy part in any game that I play. For all the criticism that Berba faced pre-season and the growing voice among fans to have him off-loaded, Fergie could infact have been understood for once by all football fans with his decision to send off Berbatov but what a decision it has been to hold him back. Yes, its too early in the season but its never too early in the season to record a win over the Scousers and in what a way, the first hat-trick in nearly sixty years against the phony Reds...brilliant.

When a crowd of 75000+ erupts into massive applause as the man walked off the field to let Ando make his first appearance in quite some time reminded me of the ballet dancing performances which are greeted by tumultous applause at the end of the performance. The two brilliant headers and the 'already goal of the season contender' bicycle kick were the icing of the cake to the hitherto unknown work rate that Berba has been showing this season. It was probably the signing of Chicharito and the Mexicans perfomances that accompanied it in South Africa that spurred on the former Spurs man to deliver the performances that he has this season. Under pressure, even the weakest deliver sterling performances and this mountain of potential just showed us what was behind that calm facade.

May that volcano continue erupting and may the goals keep flowing.

Berba, take a bow and keep the magic working for a greater part of the season :)

Cheers

P.S: Blogs are meant to pour out your feelings, I somehow feel more comfortable doing it in 140 characters these days but still a sincere attempt to revive the blog.
